The Daimler scout car, known in service as the Daimler Dingo after the Australian wild dog, was a British light, fast four-wheel-drive reconnaissance vehicle also used for liaison duties during the Second World War. Built by Daimler, it entered service in 1940, with 6,626 vehicles produced between 1939 and 1945, and a Canadian-built variant, the Ford Lynx, adding a further 3,255 vehicles from 1942 to 1945.
