The Schwerer Gustav was a German 80-centimeter railway gun developed in the late 1930s by Krupp and fielded by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Originally intended to breach French fortifications, it missed the Battle of France and instead saw its first combat use at the Siege of Sevastopol in 1942 on the Eastern Front, where it proved devastating against Soviet positions, remaining in service into the war's final years.
