2S1 Gvozdika

The 2S1 Gvozdika, Russian for Carnation, is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer built on the amphibious MT-LBu chassis by the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, mounting a 122 mm 2A18 howitzer. It entered service in 1972 and remains in front-line use today, fitted with NBC protection and infrared night vision; more than 10,000 were produced between 1971 and 1991, and the type still serves with more than 40 countries including Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Serbia, Romania, Finland, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
