D-30 Howitzer

The D-30, formally the 122 mm howitzer 2A18, is a Soviet towed howitzer designed by F.F. Petrov and built by PJSC Plant No. 9, entering service in 1960. Its distinctive three-leg mounting allows the gun to traverse a full 360 degrees, and it fires to a maximum range of 15.3 kilometers with standard ammunition or 21.9 kilometers with rocket-assisted projectiles. Although no longer manufactured in the former Soviet Union, it remains in production and service elsewhere, fielded by more than 60 countries including Russia, India, Myanmar, Iran, Angola, China and Finland, and its barrel assembly was adapted for the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
