The G6, sometimes called the G6 Rhino, is a South African self-propelled howitzer developed as a turreted variant of the towed G5 howitzer, mounted on a six-wheeled, mine-protected armoured chassis built by Land Systems OMC with a turret from Denel Land Systems. It carries a 155 mm gun with 47 rounds, was produced between 1988 and 1999 with 154 units built, and forms the backbone of the South African National Defence Force's artillery arm; it is also operated by the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
