Light guns that vent propellant gas to the rear to cancel recoil, so that a large shell can be fired from a small mount, including the Soviet B-10, the Swedish Pvpj 1110 and the American Davy Crockett nuclear projector. A weapon belongs here when its cited article describes it as a recoilless gun or rifle. It excludes conventional towed guns and mortars. By letting gas escape through the breech, these guns cut weight and allowed infantry to carry anti-tank power forward, and the same principle was used for a small nuclear projector in the 1960s.
