STK 40 AGL

The STK 40 AGL is an automatic grenade launcher developed in Singapore in the late 1980s by Chartered Industries of Singapore, now part of ST Engineering, and it entered service in 1991. Firing 40x53mm grenades from a belt feed using blowback operation, it weighs about 33 kilograms, fires at a rate of 350 to 500 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 242 meters per second and a maximum range of about 2,200 meters, and can be mounted on a tripod or on vehicles such as the M113 armored personnel carrier and the Bionix infantry fighting vehicle. It fires a range of round types including high explosive, less than lethal, camera and self destruct rounds, and remains in use with the Singapore Armed Forces and security forces of several other countries.
