AGS-17

The AGS-17 Plamya is a Soviet designed automatic grenade launcher, designed by KB Tochmash in 1967 and manufactured by the Molot Plant, that fires 30mm grenades from a tripod or vehicle mount against both soft targets and fortified positions. It entered service around 1970, went into mass production in 1971, and became widely known after its deployment during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. It remains in service today with Russia and more than thirty other nations including Afghanistan, China, Iraq, Serbia and Vietnam, having previously also equipped Czechoslovakia, Finland and Latvia.
