NSV machine gun

The NSV, also called the Utyos, is a Soviet heavy machine gun chambered in 12.7 by 108 millimeter, designed in 1969 by G. I. Nikitin, Y. M. Sokolov and V. I. Volkov at the Central Design Bureau of Sports and Hunting Weaponry in Tula and adopted by the Soviet Army in 1971 to replace the older DShK. It has since been fielded in the Soviet-Afghan War, the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, the Gulf War, the Afghan Civil War, the War in Afghanistan, the Lebanese Civil War, the Iraq War, the Russo-Georgian War, the Syrian Civil War, the Iraqi Civil War, the Yemeni Civil War and the Russo-Ukrainian war.
