De Havilland Firestreak

The De Havilland Firestreak is a British first-generation air-to-air missile using passive infrared, heat-seeking homing, developed by de Havilland Propellers in the early 1950s and entering service in 1957 as the first effective British air-to-air missile. It armed a series of Royal Air Force and Royal Navy interceptor aircraft, remained in operational use until 1988, and was also supplied to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
