Brimstone is a British air to surface and surface to surface guided missile developed by MBDA UK, first deployed with Royal Air Force Tornado aircraft and in service since 2005. It uses millimeter wave active radar homing for fire and forget attacks on moving targets, and its 6.3 kilogram tandem shaped charge warhead is designed to defeat the reactive armor fitted to modern tanks. Dual mode versions add laser guidance, letting an operator pick out a specific, highest priority target and reduce the risk of collateral damage. Brimstone has seen extensive use in Afghanistan and Libya, has been supplied to Ukraine since 2022, and has been adopted by other countries including Germany, which ordered 3,266 missiles in 2024, along with Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
