NASM-MR

The NASM-MR, also called the Medium Range Anti-Ship Missile, is an all-weather, over-the-horizon anti-ship cruise missile under development in India by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, with a first flight trial conducted in June 2026. It is designed to weigh about 600 kilograms, measure 5.2 meters long, and reach roughly Mach 0.9 on a solid booster and turbojet, guided by inertial navigation, satellite positioning, and a radar altimeter in mid course flight and by active radar homing in its terminal phase, delivering a 150 kilogram penetration and blast warhead out to 350 kilometers from a ship or 290 kilometers from an aircraft. It is intended to arm fighters such as the MiG-29K and HAL Tejas, maritime patrol aircraft, warships, submarines, and ground launchers against small and medium warships such as frigates and corvettes, in a role comparable to the American Harpoon missile.
