Shershen is a third-generation anti-tank guided missile jointly developed by Belarus and Ukraine, designed in 2010 and manufactured by CJSC SRPC, entering service in 2012. It uses semi-automatic command to line of sight guidance with laser beam riding, a solid fuel rocket motor, and an impact fuze, and can be fired from a tripod or a vehicle mount, with the base model reaching beyond 2.5 kilometers and the R-2V variant reaching 7,500 meters. The system is intended to defeat modern armored vehicles and hardened positions such as bunkers, pillboxes and earth and timber emplacements, as well as low speed, low altitude targets like helicopters and drones, and offers both manual control and an automated fire and forget mode with a setup time under two minutes. Variants include the light Shershen-L, the dual-channel Shershen-D, and the vehicle-mountable Shershen-Q, and the system is in service with Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Nigeria and Turkmenistan.
