Toophan

The Toophan is an Iranian SACLOS anti-tank guided missile reverse engineered, without a license, from the American BGM-71A TOW missile, built by Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization for the missile and launcher and by Iran Electronics Industries for its guidance units, with production beginning in 1987 to 1988. It is wire guided, with laser guidance on some variants, has a maximum range of 3,500 to 3,750 meters and a peak speed of 310 meters per second, and has been produced in at least eleven documented variants carrying high explosive, HEAT, or thermobaric warheads. Described as the backbone of the Iranian armed forces' anti-tank missile inventory, it has also been exported to Iraq, Syria, and a number of non-state armed groups across the Middle East.
