The Dong-Feng 11, also called the M-11 or CSS-7, is a short-range ballistic missile developed by the People's Republic of China, with development beginning in 1984 and entry into service with the PLA Second Artillery Corps in 1992. It is a single-stage, solid-propellant, road-mobile missile roughly 7.5 to 8.5 meters long with a 500 kilogram warhead that can be nuclear, fuel-air explosive, chemical, or submunition, guided by an astro-inertial system with a ring-laser gyroscope and Beidou satellite navigation. The basic DF-11 has a range of over 300 kilometers, the improved DF-11A reaches over 700 kilometers, and the missile is used by China, Pakistan, and Myanmar, where it is designated M-11.
