Taepodong-1

Taepodong-1 was the external designation for a three-stage technology demonstrator developed by North Korea as a step toward an intermediate-range ballistic missile, derived from the Soviet Scud missile design. It was launched only once, in 1998, when it was flown as a space launch vehicle and was also referred to as the Paektusan-1, after Mount Paektu.
