The RT-2PM2 Topol-M is a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile and the first ICBM developed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, evolving from the earlier RT-2PM Topol design. A cold-launched, three-stage, solid-propellant missile, it entered service in December 2000 carrying a single warhead over a range of about 11,000 kilometers, and can be deployed from a silo or a road-mobile transporter erector launcher. It was designed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology and built at the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant.
