The Sejjil is a two stage, solid fueled intermediate range ballistic missile developed by Iran, with a reported range of about 2,000 kilometers. Its first successful test came on 13 November 2008, and it was described at the time as a significant leap in Iranian missile technology, moving the country closer to intercontinental ballistic missile capability. Its solid fuel design lets it launch faster than earlier liquid fueled missiles such as the Shahab series, making it harder to target before launch.
