Oreshnik (missile)

Oreshnik is a Russian intermediate-range ballistic missile reported to exceed Mach 10, derived from the RS-26 Rubezh design of the 2020s. It carries multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles, with six warheads containing submunitions in the version fielded so far. Its first and so far only combat use came on November 21, 2024, when Russia struck the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with it, a strike described as exceptionally difficult for Ukraine's air defenses to intercept.
