R-14 Chusovaya

The R-14 Chusovaya is a single-stage intermediate-range ballistic missile developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War, designed by Mikhail Yangel at OKB-586 in Dnipropetrovsk, with design work beginning in 1958 and flight testing running from June 1960 to February 1961. It entered service with the Strategic Rocket Forces on April 24, 1961, known to NATO as the SS-5 Skean and to Soviet records as the 8K65, with a range of roughly 3,700 to 4,500 kilometers and thermonuclear warheads. It was withdrawn from service in 1984 and scrapped under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
