Jupiter-C

The Jupiter-C was an American three-stage research and development rocket, built by Chrysler for the Army Ballistic Missile Agency and based on the Redstone missile, with clustered solid-fueled Sergeant rockets serving as its upper stages. Designed as a sounding rocket to test re-entry technology, it first flew on September 20, 1956, and completed three suborbital launches, all successful, from Cape Canaveral through August 1957. The vehicle later evolved into the Juno I satellite launcher.
