The MGM-52 Lance was an American mobile tactical ballistic missile system fielded by the United States Army from 1972, built by LTV and later supported by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, to provide both nuclear and conventional fire support. It replaced older systems such as the Honest John rocket and the Sergeant missile with better accuracy and mobility, and could carry either a W70 nuclear warhead or a conventional payload, with a range of about 45 to 80 miles depending on the warhead carried.
