Precision Strike Missile

Missiles And Guided Munitions

The Precision Strike Missile, abbreviated PrSM, is a series of short-range and later medium-range ballistic missiles developed by Lockheed Martin to replace the MGM-140 ATACMS. The first variant, Increment One, is in service with the United States Army and the Australian Army and has a treaty-bound range of 500 kilometres. For now it can be fired only from the M142 HIMARS launcher, and plans are being explored to fire it from surface ships through the Mark 41 vertical launching system. Later increments are planned to add a multi-mode seeker able to engage moving ships, new warheads and a range of 1,000 kilometres or more. Australia is a partner in the programme and intends to produce the missile at home. The United States first used the missile in combat during the 2026 Iran war, where limited inventory restricted its use.
