The North American Aviation AGM-28 Hound Dog was a supersonic, turbojet-propelled, nuclear-armed, air-launched cruise missile developed in 1959 for the United States Air Force. It was designed to strike Soviet ground-based air defenses ahead of a B-52 Stratofortress bomber attack during the Cold War, and remained in service for fifteen years before being replaced by the AGM-69 SRAM and later the AGM-86 ALCM.
