The 53T6, designated ABM-3 Gazelle by NATO and formerly known as SH-08, is a Soviet anti-ballistic missile designed in 1978 and in service since 1995 as part of the A-135 anti-ballistic missile system defending Moscow. It is a two-stage, solid-propellant, silo-launched missile about 10 meters long and 1.8 meters in diameter with a launch weight of 10 tons, designed by the NPO Novator Design Bureau to intercept incoming reentry vehicles at ranges of roughly 80 to 100 kilometers using a 10-kiloton thermonuclear warhead, guided with support from the Don-2N Pill Box radar.
