PAVA spray

PAVA spray is an incapacitant spray similar to pepper spray, dispensed from a handheld canister as a liquid stream. It contains a 0.3 percent solution of pelargonic acid vanillylamide, also called nonivamide, a synthetic capsaicinoid, in a solvent of aqueous ethanol with nitrogen as the propellant. This concentration was chosen as the minimum needed to reduce capacity for resistance without unnecessarily prolonging discomfort.
