The Beretta 1301 is a gas operated semi automatic 12 gauge shotgun made by Beretta in Italy and imported into the United States by Beretta USA, produced since 2014 in versions built for tactical and law enforcement use and for competitive shooting. It uses a short stroke gas piston and rotating bolt with an annular gas system that lets the piston ride outside the tubular magazine, giving it a longer magazine capacity than earlier Beretta shotguns such as the Tx4 Storm. The shotgun accepts both 2.75 inch and 3 inch shells and weighs between about 6.35 and 7.1 pounds depending on model, with an overall length of about 37.8 inches.
