Mexican Mauser Model 1954

The Mexican Mauser Model 1954, officially the Mosqueton Mod. 1954, is a Mauser-pattern bolt-action rifle made by Fabrica Nacional de Armas in Mexico, produced from 1954 to 1959 and chambered in .30-06 Springfield. It simplified the earlier Mexican Mauser Model 1936 while borrowing features from the M1903 Springfield, used a laminated plywood stock, and could be built as either a full rifle or a shorter carbine. As of 2017 it remained in use with Mexicos rural militia, the Rurales, more than sixty years after entering service.
