Smith & Wesson SD VE

The Smith and Wesson SD VE is a polymer-framed, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol made by Smith and Wesson of the United States, part of the SD series that replaced the earlier SW and Sigma line. Smith and Wesson began producing the SD VE, standing for Value Enhanced, in 2012, distinguished by a stainless steel slide. It is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum or .40 S&W, with a 4.0 inch barrel, a weight of 22.4 ounces unloaded, and a magazine capacity of 16 plus 1 rounds in 9mm or 14 plus 1 rounds in .40 caliber, with restricted versions holding 10 plus 1. The pistol carries dovetailed white dot sights and an industry standard accessory rail, and the line continued to evolve, with the SD9 2.0 launching in December 2023 with a flat-face trigger and deeper slide serrations at a lower price.
