The SV-98 is a Russian bolt-action sniper rifle designed by Vladimir Stronskiy and manufactured by Izhmash, now part of the Kalashnikov Concern, officially adopted in 2003 as part of the 7.62mm 6S11 sniper system paired with specialized 7N14 ammunition. Chambered primarily in 7.62x54mmR, with variants offered in 7.62x51mm NATO and .338 Lapua Magnum, it has seen combat use in conflicts including operations in Chechnya and in Ukraine.
