The ShAK-12, originally developed under the name ASh-12.7, is a Russian close-quarters-battle and urban-operations weapon designed by TsKIB SOO, a subsidiary of the KBP Instrument Design Bureau in Tula, at the request of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). It was built for extreme short-range stopping power for FSB urban combat units, and the first batch of rifles was delivered to the FSB in late 2011.
