The GSG-5 is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge, produced by German Sport Guns GmbH of Ense-Hoingen, Germany. It was introduced at the IWA and Outdoor Classics trade show in March 2007, following the legalization in Germany of previously banned military-style firearm designs. The rifle was designed by Dietmar Emde and resembles a military-style carbine while firing a low-powered rimfire cartridge.
