The Remington Model 30 is an American bolt-action sporting rifle of the interwar period, designed by C.C. Loomis and C.H. Barnes on the action of the military P14/M1917 Enfield rifle that Remington had manufactured for Britain and the United States during the First World War; it was Remington's first high-powered bolt-action sporting rifle. Early rifles used surplus military M1917 parts chambered in .30-06 to use up wartime inventory, while the later Model 30 Express, produced from 1926 to 1940, was offered in additional chamberings including .257 Roberts and .270 Winchester, and fed from a 5-round internal box magazine; Remington built about 3,000 of the original Model 30 from 1921 to 1925 and 22,800 of the Model 30 Express.
