The L64/65, also known as the Enfield Individual Weapon, was a British bullpup assault rifle prototype designed between 1972 and 1974 and produced in small numbers from 1976 to 1978 by the Royal Small Arms Factory for British Army trials. It fired the experimental 4.85x49mm intermediate cartridge, sometimes causing it to be called the 4.85 Individual Weapon, through a gas-operated rotating bolt action fed by a 20-round detachable box magazine. It weighed about 3.72 kilograms with its SUSAT optical sight fitted, measured 762 millimeters overall, and its line of development led to the later XL70 family of prototypes that in turn shaped the SA80 rifle.
