The Milkor MGL is a lightweight 40mm six shot revolver type grenade launcher made by Milkor (Pty) Ltd of South Africa, developed to give an infantry squad more sustained grenade firepower than single shot launchers could provide. Demonstrated as a concept to the South African Defence Force in 1981, it was accepted into SADF service as the Y2 before its formal introduction in 1983.
