The Remington Model 95 is a double-barrel, over-under pocket pistol commonly known as a derringer, patented on December 12, 1865 by William H. Elliot and put into commercial production by Remington Arms in 1866. Chambered for the .41 Short rimfire cartridge with a 3-inch barrel and a single-action mechanism, it was designed as a compact, concealable handgun for personal defense. Manufacturing continued largely unchanged for 69 years, from 1866 to 1935, producing roughly 132,000 units.
