The Socimi Type 821 is a submachine gun chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, designed in 1983 by the Milan firm SOCIMI in cooperation with Luigi Franchi and produced from 1984 to 1989. It was built as an alternative to the Uzi, using a lightweight alloy receiver instead of stamped steel along with a side-folding stock and controls meant to improve handling in automatic fire.
