The Winchester Model 1911 SL is a self-loading, recoil-operated shotgun made by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company and produced from 1911 to 1925, the company first autoloading shotgun. Mechanical flaws in its design left it unable to compete effectively against rival autoloaders from Remington and Browning, and the gun became known by the grim nickname the Widowmaker.
