The SIG MPX is a 9x19mm Parabellum submachine gun designed by SIG Sauer in the United States, first designed in 2013 and released commercially in 2015. It uses a short-stroke gas-operated system with a closed rotating bolt, a design uncommon among submachine guns and intended to improve reliability and reduce recoil, and is offered in selective-fire configurations for military and law enforcement use as well as semi-automatic variants for civilian sale. Since its release the MPX has been adopted by a number of international security forces.
