Werndl-Holub rifle

The M1867 Werndl-Holub is a single-shot breechloading rifle adopted by the Austro-Hungarian army on 28 July 1867, replacing the earlier Wanzl conversion of the muzzle-loading Lorenz rifle. It was designed and patented by Josef Werndl and Karel Holub, though Werndl later bought out all rights to the design, leaving Holub associated with it in name only.
