The Barrett REC7, whose name stands for reliability-enhanced carbine, is an American selective-fire rifle built by Barrett Firearms as a variant of the M4 carbine using a short-stroke gas piston system. It is offered chambered in either 5.56x45mm NATO or 6.8mm Remington SPC, and is the second AR-pattern rifle Barrett built for the 6.8mm Remington SPC cartridge, after the earlier Barrett M468, which used the same Stoner bolt and carrier piston system.
