Browning BDM

The Browning BDM, short for Browning Double Model, is a semi automatic pistol designed and manufactured by the Browning Arms Company from 1991 until production ceased in 1998. Though similar in appearance to Browning's Hi-Power pistol, it was actually a new design created to compete in service trials for a proposed standard issue pistol for the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation. The BDM failed to win any large scale law enforcement contract and was instead sold only on the retail market, where its resemblance to the older Hi-Power has often led it to be mistaken for a mere variant of that pistol.
