The Military Armament Corporation Model 10, known as the MAC-10, is a compact blowback operated machine pistol and submachine gun designed by Gordon Ingram in 1964 and entering service around 1970. It was chambered for .45 ACP or 9mm and could be fitted with a Sionics designed suppressor that quieted the weapon and improved control in automatic fire at the cost of extra bulk. Its semi automatic civilian derivative was later banned from new production for a decade under the 1994 United States assault weapons ban.
