The Beretta 93R is an Italian selective fire machine pistol designed and manufactured by Beretta in the late 1970s for Italian counter-terrorism units during the Years of Lead. Its designation R stands for Raffica, Italian for burst or volley, and it can fire in either three-round burst or single-shot mode, chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge. It was designed between 1977 and 1979 and produced until 1993.
