FN Barracuda

Small Arms And Sidearms

The FN Barracuda is a double-action revolver designed and built by the Spanish firm Astra-Unceta y Cia to the specifications of Fabrique Nationale of Belgium. Its notable feature is a rapidly interchangeable cylinder that lets the user switch between 9 by 19 millimeter Parabellum, .38 Special and .357 Magnum. FN wanted to enter the revolver market to win law enforcement customers on both sides of the Atlantic, and this was its only attempt, made in collaboration with Astra. The gun has a pinned barrel of three inches, a five-screw frame and an adjustable internal coil hammer spring. It was regarded as well made but aimed at a shrinking market, and production stopped around 1989 after poor sales.
