Smith & Wesson Model 13

Small Arms And Sidearms

The Smith & Wesson Model 13, marketed as the Military & Police Magnum, is a six shot double action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and designed for military and police use. It is the .357 Magnum version of the heavy barrel variant of the .38 Special Model 10 on Smith & Wesson's K-frame, and it came with fixed sights, 3 inch or 4 inch barrels and round or square butts. The Model 19 is essentially the same gun with adjustable sights, while the Model 65 is a matte finished stainless steel variant. The Model 13 was made from 1974 to 1999 and the Model 65 from 1972 to 2004. In practice it was issued mainly by police and federal law enforcement agencies in the United States, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation used it as the last revolver it issued. Canadian and Hong Kong agencies also list it among their users.
