The Ashani is a semi automatic .32 calibre pistol manufactured in India by the Ordnance Factory Board, first produced in 1958 at the Gun and Shell Factory and Rifle Factory Ishapore and based on the design of the Belgian FN Model 1910. It is a straight blowback, single action pistol chambered in .32 ACP, weighing about 0.68 kilograms with an eight round detachable box magazine, and is intended mainly for civilian self defense, remaining popular among licensed gun owners in India. A revised Mark II version with a polymer grip and improved finish was launched on December 23, 2017.
