Glock

Small Arms And Sidearms

The Glock is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Austrian engineer Gaston Glock and produced by Glock GmbH. It entered service with the Austrian military and police in 1982, notable as the first commercially successful pistol line built around a polymer frame despite early skepticism about plastic construction. Its Safe Action trigger system combines a trigger safety, a firing pin safety and a drop safety rather than a manual thumb safety. By the early twenty first century Glock pistols had been adopted by national armed forces, security agencies and police departments in at least 48 countries, including the FBI and most police agencies in the United States.
