The P-96 is a Russian 9 mm semi-automatic pistol designed by the KBP Instrument Design Bureau. It was originally designed under the leadership of V. P. Gryazev for the Russian Armed Forces. After the military rejected it, the design was modified and offered to law enforcement and security firms as the P-96M and the P-96S. The infobox describes a short-recoil action with a rotary barrel and a fixed rear notch and front blade sight. The base P-96 is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum with an 18-round magazine, the P-96M in 9x18mm Makarov with a 14-round magazine, and the P-96S in .380 ACP with a 10-round magazine. The page records a design date of 1996 and production from 1998, with the P-96M weighing 460 grams and measuring 152 millimetres in length.
