The KelTec PMR-30 is a full-size semi-automatic pistol made by KelTec in the United States and offered to buyers from 2011. It is chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire and is fed from a special factory double-stack magazine that holds thirty rounds plus one in the chamber, an unusually large capacity for a handgun of that cartridge. Much of the gun is polymer, with a steel slide and barrel and an aluminum internal grip frame, which keeps weight and cost down. It has a single action trigger and a manual safety, fixed fiber optic open sights, and a slide pre-drilled so that red-dot sights can be mounted with plates from the maker. Early production had problems that KelTec addressed over time, including a faster rifling twist of 1 in 11 to stabilize bullets, a stronger and less shiny frame that stopped drooping, and extra metal at the breech. An optional extended threaded barrel with a flash hider is sold to tame the heavy muzzle flash. It competes with other .22 Magnum semi-automatic pistols such as the Walther WMP, and a rifle variant called the CMR-30 exists. It is a civilian sporting and defensive pistol, not a service arm.
